Mumbai Trip

Posted by gorky on on July 17, 2012, 12:50 a.m.

Mumbai the city of bustling Bollywood Stars and old architectures. Reminds me of the old British era. Moreover the old classic Premier and Ambassador cars adds some more spice to that flavor. And the most interesting part, is the nice combination of new various models of Skoda, Suzuki (no longer a Maruti), Mercedes, BMW, and many more gives an even more interesting mixture of the old and modern. One thing was contrary to my general imagination is that the greenery filled stone paved roads with the sidewalks being covered by the British era Buildings themselves. Gives quite an elegant look, as if a psychological demonstration regarding how serving the city's mentality is towards its passers-by.

Yes, I know the city is hugely expensive, but the most interesting experience that I had was that Mumbai's transportation cost is relatively low. That was in fact surprising for me. The best part of the city that I loved are the beautiful old architectures that they retained, and did not destroy.

And neither could I miss the roads, especially when you could find these cute looking bugs bunny (Tata Nanos) on the road.

And the mixture in certain places of roadside shoppers selling items is also quite enjoying.

This city also hosts the Ambani house aside the shoppers ;) Therefore, do not take this place lightly.

When we went through the Marine Drive, I just loved the place. There was a light breeze of rain. And there are quite out of the blue sculptures in quite out of the blue places, like this one below of the Mr. Fisherman looking into the sea. I was surprised, while taking this snap from our moving taxi.

And the most enjoyable thing was the food. I just loved it. You can guess from this picture, of Murg Makhani and the Lamb Curry with the Delicious Paratas at the Bismillah Hotel.

As it was a very short trip, couldn't do much exploring, but may think of visiting again. In the meantime, adios to the city of Katrina and Bollywood!

Bye Bye Mumbai... from Mumbai Gate
